Azzalure is a local muscle relaxant adapted from the botulinum neuromodulator type-A of Dysport® and is specifically designed for use in aesthetic indications.
Azzalure is indicated for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines (vertical lines between the eyebrows, or “frown lines”) seen at frown and lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet lines) seen at maximum smile, in adult patients under 65 years, when the severity of these lines has an important improvement in the psychological impact on the patient.
How does Azzalure Work?
Azzalure contains an active ingredient called botulinum toxin type A, which is derived from Clostridium botulinum, a type of bacteria. The toxins role is to stop nerves from carrying out their normal function. By preventing the release of significant chemicals, muscle contraction is also inhibited.
The positive effect is to make muscles between the eyebrows relaxed, diminishing the appearance of vertical frown lines. The effect is only temporary and further treatments can be given every three months.
How long to see Azzalure last:
Azzalure normally takes an average of 2 to 3 days to start working as seen in glabellar lines, although it may take a little longer for the full effects to be seen. The speed of action will depend on the strength of your facial muscles and your individual response to the injection.
How Long will Aazalure Results Last?
Results are subtle and very natural looking and can last for up to 6 months in some patients. Many patients find that with regular use, the Azzalure effects can last longer. For best effects, it is recommended you repeat your treatment after around 3 months.
